Hassler's Highlander Highlights: Week 8!

Week 8 was another good week to be a Highlander.

JV and JVB Boys Soccer wrapped up their season with games against Athens and Rochester. JV tied Athens 0-0 on Tuesday to end their season undefeated at 14-0-4. JVB played Rochester on Wednesday and came away with a 3-1 victory while accruing a record of 12-1-1. It was a great year for these two young teams.

Thursday was a busy day with Freshmen Football picking up a win against Stoney Creek 21-7. The team improved to 7-1.

Girls Varsity Volleyball earned a win against Troy Athens in 3 sets. It was also senior night for girls swim and dive. The team earned a nice win over a tough Groves team by just 3 points.

On Friday Boys Tennis finished up their 2021 campaign with a strong showing at the state finals. The OAA White Champs finished in 9th place in D1.

On the gridiron the varsity football team took care of business within the city limits by defeating Stoney Creek 40-20. The team moves to 8-0. Marco Dicresce, Griffin Henke and Parker Picot each had 2 touchdowns in the win. Alex DeGrieck was a force on the defensive and offensive line while Christian Schomer had two big catches and some big runs.

Saturday was a time to shine for the girls golf team. The Highlanders finished tied for 6th in D1 while Sophomore Laura Liu was a medalist with her 4th place finish.
