Hassler's Highlander Highlights: Week 4!

Week 4 was an exciting week for the Highlanders.

On Tuesday, The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams competed in their first OAA Red Jamboree at Lake Orion.

The weather was ominous but both races were able to be completed. Amanda Soldan was the top finisher for the girls in 5th place while Nathan D’Souza was the top runner for the boys with a 9th place finish.

Girls Swim defeated Bloomfield Hills 118 to 67. The team took 1st in 10 of 12 races including all 3 relays. They are now 2-0 on the season.

On Wednesday, JVB Boys Soccer played their second game of the week. In the first game on Monday they tied Berkley 2-2. In their 2nd game they defeated Troy 2-1 with John Peretz scoring both goals.

Thursday was a big day for sports. In soccer, JV A ran their record to 8-0 with a 4-0 win against Grand Blanc. Henry Hall had the hat trick. Reid Dennis had the shutout in net. The varsity boys soccer game against Grand Blanc ended in a 1 all draw. Connor Patritto scored the lone goal.

In Football, both the Freshmen and the JV teams defeated their crosstown rival, Rochester. The Freshmen opened with a 38-11 win while the JV followed with a 36-0 shutout of the Falcons.

Friday was a big day on campus as the Highlanders hosted their annual Gold Rush tailgate and boy...it did not disappoint!

The crowd was a buzzing and the food truck lines were almost to Van Hoosen. The game started with a couple of back and forth scores between the Falcons and the Highlanders but it would be the 4 touchdowns by Parker Picot that would solidify the win for Adams. Griffin Henke had 2 rushing touchdowns and DJ Greer had 1. Colin Timko connected on all 7 of his extra points. The team moves to 4-0.

Saturday saw the JV A team get another resounding win 7-0 against the Oxford Wildcats. Young Xu and Spencer Dekraker had 2 goals each. The team is now 9-0 on the year. Varsity followed up with a 2-0 win over Imlay City. Merrick Devlin had 2 goals and John Coon had the shut-out in net.
