RCS PTA Founders Day 2023 - Feb 7

The Rochester Community PTA Council recognizes its outstanding volunteers from across the district at the Founders Day celebration on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at Rochester High School. Award winners from each school will be honored for their service to Rochester Community Schools students, staff and families.

Community members are invited to attend on Feb. 7 at the Rochester High School auditorium located in the RHS Performing Arts Center at 1361 Walton Blvd. in Rochester Hills. The ceremony begins at 7pm Doors open at 6pm for refreshments, music and silent auction bidding.

Join us for a celebration of our amazing volunteers as we recognize and honor the accomplishments, commitment, and dedication of the students, parents, educators, and staff of our Rochester community.

RCS is proud of the strong partnership with our PTAs and PTSAs. We work closely with our dedicated volunteers to enhance student-centered growth and learning at all levels and in all schools across the district. We appreciate the positive, collaborative relationships that support high-quality learning opportunities for RCS children.






SAFETY SUMMIT: One-stop Access to District Safety Information - Feb 8

Community Members are invited to attend the Rochester Community Schools Safety Summit on Wednesday, Feb 8, from 6:30pm to 8pm in the Rochester High School auditorium.

In collaboration with our community partners, the safety summit will provide community members with one-stop access to district safety information, resources, processes and best practices. An authorized collection area will be on site for families to safely dispose of unused or expired medications. Our safety partners are also planning to provide access to free Deterra drug disposal kits, Fentanyl testing strips, CPR face shields and Narcan, along with training on how to recognize signs of an opioid overdose and how to administer the opioid antagonist. Other resources will be offered to reinforce safety at home.

Community partners that will be represented at the event include the Rochester Police Department, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, Safe-Ed., Secure Education Consultants, OK2SAY, Oakland County Tactical Response Consortium, Rochester Community PTA Council, City of Rochester Hills Fire Department, Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, Rochester-Auburn Hills Community Coalition, Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities, Oakland County Crisis Intervention Team, Be SMART, Common Ground, Rochester Community Schools Foundation, Rochester Area Youth Assistance, the Jamie Daniels Foundation, and the Children's Foundation.
