47-Year Old Drunk Driver Arrested. Strikes Curb Multiple Times!
Rochester, MI - January 24, 2023 - At approximately 11:50pm, a Rochester Officer was performing near the intersection of Main and University. At this time the officer observed a Lincoln Navigator make a wide
left turn onto northbound Main St from University.
The officer followed the vehicle northbound as it struck the curb multiple times. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the 47-year old from Shelby Township. While speaking with the female the officer observed signs of impairment. The driver also admitted to having one drink earlier in the evening.
The officer requested the driver exit the vehicle and field sobriety evaluations were administered. The driver failed the SFSTs (Standard Field Sobriety Tests) and PBT (Preliminary Breath Test) that were given, which resulted in a 0.16 BAC. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to RPD for an official chemical breath test. The driver was given the breath test which revealed a 0.16 BAC. The driver was lodged until sober and released with a citation pending a later court date.
