Rochester Community Schools Board of Education elects Michelle Bueltel as School Board President

In a Rochester Community Schools (RCS) Board of Education Special Meeting held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Stoney Creek High School, the RCS School Board elected Michelle Bueltel as President.

Michelle Bueltel was nominated by Andrew Weaver and elected on a unanimous 7-0 vote of the Board Members. Michelle shared, "Thank You. I am honored that you have elected me. I hope to be able to serve this board and community well. I am sure there will be many errors I make along the way, but I will be focused on serving our students, staff, and community. So Thank You!"

Following Michelle's election as President of the Board, the Vice-President role was filled. Jessica Gupta nominated Barb Anness, Andrew Weaver nominated Carol Beth Litkouhi, and Carol Beth Litkouhi nominated Kristin Bull. Kristin Bull was appreciative, but declined the nomination.

Barb Anness was elected Vice President of the School Board on a 5 to 2 vote, with Kristin Bull, Michelle Bueltel, Barb Anness, Jessica Gupta, and Scott Muska voting for Barb Anness. Carol Beth Litkouhi and Andrew Weaver voted for Carol Beth Litkouhi.

The next School Board position to be filled was Treasurer. Carol Beth Litkouhi nominated Andrew Weaver. Barb Anness nominated Kristin Bull. Kristin Bull was elected as Treasurer on a 5 to 2 vote, with yea votes from Bull, Bueltel, Anness, Gupta and Muska. Andrew Weaver received two yea votes from Litkouhi and Weaver.

The last School Board position to be filled was that of Secretary. Kristin Bull nominated Jessica Gupta, Andrew Weaver nominated Carol Beth Litkouhi. Jessica Gupta was elected Secretary on a 5 to 2 vote, with yea votes from Bull, Bueltel, Anness, Gupta and Muska. Carol Beth Litkouhi received two yea votes from Litkouhi and Weaver.
