Potential Theft of Rings from Downtown Rochester Business
Rochester, MI - December 1, 2022 - At approximately 7:05pm, Rochester Officer was dispatched to the 400 block of S. Main regarding a retail fraud incident. Officer obtained information that 2-females, unknown identity at this time, had stolen several rings from a business. Complainant gave an age description of the subjects possibly in their late teens. Rochester School is investigating.
29-year Old Arrested for Drunk Driving
Rochester, MI - December 2, 2022 - At approximately 12:45am Rochester Officer was performing stationary radar enforcement on Runyon west of Dequindre. Officer observed a vehicle traveling W/B Runyon passing Dequindre, now approaching Miners Run. This vehicle gained officers attention due to the high RPM and loud exhaust. Officer further radared the vehicle going 74 mph.
Officer effected a traffic stop and investigated the driver, identified as a 29-year old from Sterling Heights through his Michigan license. While speaking with the driver, Officer could smell an odor of intoxicants emitting from inside the vehicle. Officer also noticed an unopen can of Coors Lite on the front passenger seat. Officer requested the driver to exit the vehicle for sobriety evaluations. He did so and failed them. He was given a PBT and the result was .11%. He was placed under arrest for the offense of OWI, taken to the Rochester Police Department where he was given a breathalyzer. The result was .10 and .10%. He was then processed and later released with an OWI citation.
