Man Arrested After Disobeying Police to Not Trespass at Liquor Store

Rochester, MI - October 29, 2022 - Rochester officers were dispatched to a local liquor store for a subject refusing to leave. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the clerk who stated a white male refused to leave the store after being asked. The clerk told the officers he refused to sell the subject any alcohol because they were clearly intoxicated. The clerk advised officers, if they located the subject he was to be trespassed from the property.

Officer located the subject at another liquor store. The officer spoke with the subject who became irritated with the officer. The subject was advised to not return to the original liquor store. The subject left the store without further incident. The officer then returned to the original liquor store and observed the subject walk inside after being trespassed from the property. The subject was placed under arrest for trespassing and taken to RPD for processing. The subject was booked and released with a trespassing citation.


Drunk Rochester Man Arrested with 10 Prior OWI Convictions and Suspended License

Rochester, MI - October 29, 2022 - Rochester Police were notified by a caller of a possible impaired driver travelling westbound on Parkdale. A Rochester officer was in the area and located the suspected vehicle. The officer followed the vehicle southbound on Elizabeth and observed the vehicle to roll through the stop sign at Elizabeth and Rewold. The vehicle continued southbound and did not slow for the stop sign at Meadow Lane and Elizabeth. The officer followed the vehicle as it turned westbound on to University from Elizabeth. The officer observed the vehicle to then cross over the double yellow line.

The officer conducted a traffic stop near the area University and Water. The officer made contact with the driver, a 56-year-old male from Rochester, and observed the driver to have slurred speech. The driver also admitted to drinking and the officer observed an empty Tito’s vodka bottle on the passenger side floorboard. The officer asked the driver to step out from the vehicle to perform field sobriety evaluation, which the driver did not pass. The driver was offered a PBT, which revealed a result of 0.21 BAC.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to RPD for processing and lodging. Dispatch also advised the driver had 10 prior OWI convictions and was driving on a suspended license. The officer completed a blood search warrant, and the subject was taken to the hospital. Upon completion of the blood draw, the driver was transported to RPD where he was lodged until sober. A warrant for OWI 3/Subsequent will be sought upon receiving the results from the blood test.
