Rochester Hills, MI – The Village of Rochester Hills, metropolitan Detroit’s premier lifestyle shopping and dining destination, is kicking off the most wonderful time of the year on Friday, November 18, 2022 with their spectacular LIGHT THE VILLAGE annual holiday celebration.

The 375,000 square foot outdoor shopping center will be covered with over 350,000 dazzling-colored lights, and will offer an evening of family-fun entertainment, including the grand arrival of Santa Claus direct from The North Pole. There will be photo opportunities throughout the shopping center along with a spectacular fireworks display which promises to wow and delight!


Fireworks Light-Up the Sky!





The Light The Village event will feature:

Live Musical Entertainment including performances by carolers, local area choirs and school bands beginning at 6pm

A special arrival from Santa Claus at 6:45pm

Fireworks Show beginning promptly at 7:15pm

FREE walk-up visits and photograph opportunity with Santa from 8pm-9pm

Food Trucks

Fun Interactions with Stilt Walkers & Jugglers

Selfie Station

Free Face Painting

Free Arts & Crafts Activities compliments of Paint Creek Center for the Arts

Free shuttle service from Adams High School beginning at 5:30pm

The Village of Rochester Hills is the holiday shopping destination and has gifts for everyone on your list. Conveniently located at the corner of Adams and Walton Road, The Village has extended shopping hours, over 50 unique and sought-after retailers, including the new Von Maur department store, and a collection of restaurants that is sure to satisfy hungry holiday shoppers. Throughout the Holiday Season, The Village will offer entertainment and fun for the entire family with music from local carolers, weekly visits from Santa’s reindeer, FREE daily walk-up visits to see Santa Claus, and more! The Village of Rochester Hills is the place to shop this season.

Visits with Santa are FREE!

New this year, guests will not need to make advanced reservations, as walkup visits will be available to all who want to visit during Santa’s hours. Guests should bring their own camera as photographers are not provided.

Once Santa is in town, he will make weekly appearances to the shopping center beginning November 18th through Christmas Eve. During these free visits, guests will be able to meet and take photos with Santa in a beautiful cozy outdoor winter setting. New this year, guests will not need to make advanced reservations, as walkup visits will be available to all who want to visit during Santa’s hours. Guests should bring their own camera as photographers are not provided.







Themed Nights:

The Village of Rochester Hills will once again be offering two special themed nights for visits with Santa.

Saturday, November 19th from 2pm-8pm, guests that need additional accommodations are encouraged to come out and visit with a special Santa who has experience in working with individuals with sensory, physical or other developmental needs. Families will be given extra time and assistance during these visits. EveryBody by Dutton Farm will be onsite selling handmade bath and body products created by EveryBody by Dutton Farm employees with disabilities. Proceeds and donations will help provide needed tools and items for developmentally disabled adults.

Sunday, November 20th from 2pm-6pm, animal loving guests are encouraged to bring their furry friends to The Village to take photos with Santa. Rochester Hills Leader Dogs for the Blind will be onsite selling stocking stuffers, accessories, and more for you and your cherished pet. Proceeds and donations will help Leader Dogs for the Blind provide programs to their clients at no cost.
