Graffiti in West Parking Structure
Rochester, MI - September 26, 2022 - Rochester Officer was checking the West Parking structure and observed some graffiti on the upper third level of the parking structure. This was located on the corner of the west wall and it stated, “4.SLOW”. In the same section on the east wall the numbers, “1:23”, in red were traced over in yellow with a heart drawn at the bottom. No suspect’s at this time. Anyone with information on the person who committed the incident please contact the Rochester Police Department.
Drunk Driver Arrested in Kroger Parking Lot!
Rochester, MI - October 1, 2022 - At approximately 1:50am, a Rochester officer was traveling in the left lane of W/B W. University approaching Ludlow. While approaching Ludlow officer noticed the vehicle in front of him swerve to the left, with the driver side tires driving on the solid double yellow lane marker. Officer effected a traffic stop on Walton (W. University) east of Livernois (Kroger parking lot). Officer made contact with the driver identified as a 44-year old Rochester Hills resident.
Officer could smell a strong odor of intoxicants emitting from inside the vehicle. Officer requested the driver to exit the vehicle for sobriety evaluations. He did so and failed them. A PBT was given, and the result was .17%. He was arrested for the offense of OWI, taken to the Rochester Police Department for further testing. While there, he was given a breathalyzer and the result was, .19 and .19%. He was processed and later released. Warrant request for OWI 2nd being sought.
Motorcyclist Runs Lights, Evades Police!
Rochester, MI - October 1, 2022 - At approximately 7:55pm, a Rochester officer was performing stationary radar enforcement on Parkdale west of Wyngate. Officer observed a red motorcycle traveling W/B Parkdale passing his patrol vehicle. As the motorcycle passed Officer could hear that it had a very loud/defective exhaust. Officer was unable to read any of the letters or numbers on the license plate. The plate appeared to be purposely mangled/destroyed and bent. Officer attempted to stop the motorcycle, but the driver accelerated at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle ran multiple lights on Rochester Road and the pursuit was terminated. Suspect is not known at this time.
Driver Arrested with High Blood Alcohol Content
Rochester, MI - October 2, 2022 - At approximately 2am, a Rochester officer was traveling S/B W. Alley approaching W. Second. Officer had to stop due to a vehicle which was stopped near the rear door of Main Street Billiards (W. Alley between W. Third and W. Second). The vehicle remained stopped, impeding the traffic flow of S/B W. Alley. The driver of the vehicle appeared to be talking to a female.
The driver then began backing up and making an attempt to turn around (W. Alley is a posted oneway alley - Only S/B traffic). The vehicle then abruptly turned right, driving over the curb, into parking lot #12, nearly hitting a parking meter. Officer effected a traffic stop on the vehicle. Officer identified the driver, a 35-year old Sterling Heights resident through her Michigan license and inquired as to what she was doing. She stated she is parking her vehicle and getting an Uber. Officer immediately could smell a strong odor of intoxicated emitting from inside the vehicle. Officer requested her to exit the vehicle for sobriety evaluations. She failed them. A PBT was requested, and the result was, .19%. She was arrested for the offense of OWI and taken to the Rochester Police Department and given a breathalyzer. The result was .17 and .17%. She was processed and held until sober. Ticket written for High BAC.
