Three People Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Rochester Hills



Rochester Hills, MI – Sep 21, 2022 – A Rochester Hills man and his two passengers were injured – one critically – when their vehicle was involved in a collision on Tuesday in Rochester Hills.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:17 a.m. at the intersection of Adams Road and Avon Road. A 30-year-old Rochester Hills woman was operating a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Adams and proceeded through a red light at Avon Road.

As the Grand Cherokee continued through the intersection, a 75-year-old male operating a 2012 Honda Accord was traveling westbound Avon Road and turned left toward southbound Adams and was struck by the Jeep. The Honda Accord had the right of way as indicated by a green left turn signal.

The 75-year-old Rochester Hills driver was immediately transported to an area hospital by emergency responders from the Rochester Hills Fire Department where he is currently listed in stable condition. A front seat male passenger, 73, also from Rochester Hills, is hospitalized and reported in stable condition.

A 74-year-old male from Rochester hills was in the back seat of the Accord when it was struck and is currently hospitalized and listed in critical condition. At present, it is unknown if any of the occupants of the Honda were wearing seatbelts.

The driver of the Jeep was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. Neither drugs nor alcohol use is suspected in the incident, which remains under investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office Crash Investigations Unit.
