Driver Arrested for Driving with Suspended License!
Rochester, MI - September 1, 2022 - At approximately 11:05pm, a Rochester Officer was performing selective enforcement at the area of Main and Drace when they observed a vehicle travel southbound with a loud defective exhaust. The officer also observed the driver to not be wearing their seatbelt.
The officer followed the vehicle southbound and observed the vehicle to be missing the exhaust. The officer made a traffic stop in the area of Main and University. The officer contacted the driver, a 43-year-old male from South Lyon. The driver admitted to not having a license and provided the officer with an ID card. It was discovered the driver was suspended. The driver was placed under arrest for driving while license suspended. The driver was transported to RPD for processing and released with a citation for a pending future court date.
Drunk Driver Almost Strikes Police Vehicle
Rochester, MI - September 4, 2022 - At approximately 2:30am, a Rochester officer was in patrol in the area of Main and Second when they observed a Dodge Charger traveling southbound with no lights on. The officer also observed the vehicle to swerve into the officer’s lane, nearly striking the police vehicle.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, a 25-year-old male from Auburn Hills. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed signs of impairment. The driver was asked to perform field sobriety evaluations, which he did not pass. The driver was offered a PBT which revealed a 0.17 BAC. The driver was placed under arrest, transported to RPD and offered a chemical breath test, which revealed a result of 0.19 BAC. The driver was lodged until sober and released with a citation, pending a later court date.
