Motorcycle Driver Arrested!
Rochester, MI - August 8, 2022 - At approximately 8:47pm a Rochester Officer was monitoring the intersection of Main and Woodward, when they observed a motorcycle run the red light while traveling southbound on Main.
The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the rider, a 23-year-old male from Lake Orion. The rider told the officer his wallet had flown out of his pocket while riding. The officer discovered the rider was suspended and did not have an endorsement to ride the motorcycle. The rider was placed under arrest and transported to RPD. The motorcycle was impounded. The driver was issued a citation pending a later court date.
Drunk Driver Arrested Had Prior OWI Conviction
Rochester, MI - August 20, 2022 - At approximately 2:10am, a Rochester Officer was on patrol in the area of Main and Romeo when they observed a vehicle travel northbound and then make a wide right turn onto Romeo, going into oncoming traffic.
The officer followed the vehicle where it turned into an apartment complex without using its turn signal. The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, a 52-year-old male from Rochester Hills. The officer observed signs of impairment and requested the driver perform field sobriety evaluations. The driver did not pass the offered tests.
The driver was offered a PBT which revealed a result of 0.11 BAC. The driver placed under arrest for operating while intoxicated and transported to RPD for further and additional breath test. The driver was given a chemical breath test, which yielded a result of 0.13 BAC. The driver was held until sober. The driver had a prior OWI conviction, and an OWI warrant has been sought.
Catalytic Converters Stolen
Rochester, MI - August 25-26, 2022 - Rochester Officers took multiple reports for catalytic converters being stolen from vehicles. The Rochester Detective Bureau is currently investigating.
