Rochester Hills Hosts Annual Festival of the Hills, Presented by GFL!

Invites Community Out for a Night of Food, Fun, and Fireworks!

Rochester Hills, MI - Thousands of people will head to Borden Park on Wednesday, June 29th to celebrate our Nation’s birthday at the Annual Festival of the Hills Fireworks Show.

The festival will feature activities for the whole family starting at 6pm. Children can explore the free petting zoo, run and jump through the inflatables, or try out the rock climbing wall to get a bird’s eye view of the event.

The Rochester Avon Recreation Authority will be hosting both cornhole games on the tennis courts and a fast paced dodgeball game on the roller hockey rink. Nearby, the Rochester Hills Public Library will be offering a take and make craft and a chance for guests to see the inside of their early literacy bus.

At 6:45pm families can grab a bite to eat from a local food truck and bring it to their favorite spot on the blue diamond field and watch Disney’s Encanto. Guests will be able to select from a variety of food including cotton candy, fried oreos, hot dogs, elephant ears, mac-n-cheese, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken tenders - and more.

The event is free to attend, thanks to the many businesses that support the event. Major event sponsors include GFL, Papa Joes, Beaumont Health, Pro-Line, Bolyard Lumber, and Meijer just to name a few.

“We’re thrilled to invite families from every corner of our community to enjoy this patriotic celebration, "states Mayor Bryan K. Barnett. “Thanks to the generosity of our local businesses, we are able to host this event every year at no cost to our taxpayers.”

Woodward Sports Network co-creator Joey Namou and Channel 955 DJ Paul Martindale will be spinning family friendly music throughout the night. After the daytime festivities, families from all over Southeast Michigan will head to the grassy hill to set up their blankets and chairs for one of Michigan’s biggest fireworks shows. At 10:06pm, guests will enjoy a fireworks show choreographed to some of your favorite hits from pop music to Motown.

All Festival of the Hills events are located at Earl E. Borden Park on the southeast corner of Hamlin and John R. Roads. For more information visit www.rochesterhills.org for details.
