The OPC Summer Soiree - An Evening in the Garden

Rochester, MI: The OPC’s signature fundraising event, the Summer Soiree for Meals on Wheels, will be held on Friday, June 24 from 6:30pm to 10pm. The lush cottage gardens at the facility will be the perfect setting for the elegant garden party featuring a champagne reception, delicious strolling dinner, open bar, live entertainment, elaborate raffle packages and other surprises!

The Soiree supports the OPC’s Meals on Wheels service, which provides hot, nutritious meals to homebound seniors living in Northeast Oakland County. The evening also provides a lovely moment to celebrate the community champions and partners whose support and commitment are so vital to the service.

Meals on Wheels is available to seniors, 60+ who are unable to shop for or prepare their own meals. It’s a critical tool in reducing hunger in our community, and homebound meals are delivered 5 days a week. In 2021 alone, the OPC prepared 89,065 nutritionally balanced meals, and the OPC has been providing the service for over 40 years. Meals on Wheels is a consistent mainstay for many local seniors, and is something they look forward to each day. More than just a meal, the service also provides a critical wellness check, and in many instances, is the only regular contact a senior may have on a daily basis. There is no income requirement to receive meals, and the OPC is typically able to provide a meal within 48 hours of request, with no waiting list.

The Summer Soiree is being held the week of the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, so guests will enjoy a leisurely evening with champagne, a delicious dinner catered by Kruse & Muer, and live entertainment provided by The Jarrod Champion Quartet while enjoying the lovely gardens. Guests will enjoy everything from recognizable jazz standards and soul classics to today’s pop & R&B favorites.

The Soiree Presenting Sponsor is Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital; Dinner Sponsor is Controller Technologies; Entertainment Sponsor is American House Elmwood and American House Stone; Dessert Sponsor is Modetz Funeral Homes; Beverage Sponsor is Atallah Vascular Center/Rochester Medical Center; and the Champagne Reception Sponsor is Cedarbrook Senior Living. Supporting Sponsors are Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Dillman & Upton, Frank Rewold & Sons, Humana, Pomeroy Living, and Spalding DeDecker. The OPC is tremendously grateful to all of these sponsors who support this important mission.

This special evening is not to be missed! $125 tickets are available for purchase by calling (248)659-1029 or visit opcseniorcenter.org. The OPC is located at 650 Letica Drive, Rochester.
