Rochester Hills Woman Dies Thursday After Two-Vehicle Crash

Pontiac, MI – May 13, 2022 - A 78-year-old Rochester Hills woman died Thursday evening from injuries sustained in a traffic crash on East Walton Boulevard at Laurel Avenue in the City of Pontiac.

Frankie Louise Lee was operating a 2019 Jeep Cherokee shortly after 5:30 p.m. when the crash occurred. Lee was making a left turn onto Laurel Avenue from westbound East Walton Boulevard when her vehicle was struck on the passenger side by an eastbound Dodge Charger driven by a 19-year-old Pontiac man.

Lee was taken to the hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The Pontiac man was hospitalized and is currently listed in stable condition.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor; however, investigators believe speed may have contributed to the accident. The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.

Driver Arrested for Possession of Analogues and Violating Restricted License

Rochester, MI - May 7, 2022 - At approximately 1:25am Rochester officer was traveling northbound N. Main from University. Officer observed a vehicle traveling in the left lane of northbound N. Main near Olde Town. The vehicle was operating with no lights.

Officer effected a traffic stop on Rochester Rd. south of Tienken. Officer made contact with the driver identified as a 20-year old male from Oakland Township. While speaking with the driver, officer noticed a backpack on the rear seat, and notice a large butane lighter near an aerosol can. Officer noticed the driver was somewhat slow/lethargic when responding to officer’s questions.

Officer further investigated and a search of the vehicle revealed drug paraphernalia in the backpack. A continued check of the vehicle revealed multiple pills without proper medication containers. Officer advised the driver he was under arrest for possession of analogues and violating his restricted license. He was taken to the Rochester Police Department, processed and later released with a citation.


Vehicle Passenger had Warrant for Assault and Battery

Rochester, MI - May 9, 2022 - At approximately 11:40pm, Rochester officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Second Street, in reference to family trouble in progress. Dispatch advised that the Rochester Police stated a female was yelling inside of the vehicle.

Officers arrived on scene and made contact with the occupants. Upon further investigation, the passenger identified as a 27-year old female from Oakland Township had a warrant for Assault and Battery out of Hazel Park. The driver identified as a 30-year old male from Oakland Township was arrested for drug paraphernalia. The driver was issued a ticket for possession of the paraphernalia and then released.
