DOWNTOWN ROCHESTER GOES MOD!
ROCHESTER, MI - April 6, 2022 – Downtown Rochester recently issued a Call for Artists for the MOD + ROCHESTER In Town Magazine Cover Contest. Artists were invited to submit original designs with a Mod/Rochester theme. Over 25 artists submitted designs from around the greater Rochester area. Rochester Hills Artist Tim Gralewski was selected as the winner of the contest. His artwork will be featured as the cover of the Spring/Summer Edition of Downtown Rochester’s magazine, In Town.
“I'm a big fan of mid-century modern art and design and a lot of the work I do is influenced by that design era. I was interested in submitting a design since it was right up my alley. Also living in Rochester Hills, it's nice to be a part of the artistic community. I have had a mural in the last two Magical Mural Tours in Downtown Rochester. I have also done work with the Paint Creek Arts Center; One project being a juror for the children's Art on Auburn, and helping to select the artwork that would permanently be displayed on the new road. I love being able to have my work in the community that I live in”, stated Tim Gralewski. “It's a wonderful feeling! It's always great to have your work shown on a mural or in a gallery or art show. But having your work seen by so many people by being on the cover of a magazine is very special. There are so many talented artists and designers in the area, I'm honored that my piece was selected”.
The Spring/Summer In Town Magazine will be distributed the week of April 18 to over 43,000 homes in the greater Rochester area. Additional copies will be available at downtown businesses and at the Downtown Collaboration Studio, 431 S. Main.
