Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce Names Maggie Bobitz New President!

Rochester, MI - The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce (RRCC) is thrilled to announce Maggie Bobitz as future President of the RRCC.

Maggie brings an incredible experience and intimate history with the Chamber of Commerce, starting as a member in 2008. For many years, Maggie held various positions within the Chamber including Ambassador, Board Member, and Chair of the Board of Directors prior to becoming a staff member in 2015 under the executive leadership of (at the time) President Sheri Heiny.

As an employee she worked diligently managing the chamber events and programs. Then in 2017, she earned the Vice President role working closely with current resident Alaina Campbell. Early 2020, Alaina Campbell announced her retirement to pursue other courses and the Chamber is grateful for her leadership for these past years.

Starting January 1, 2022, the Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce and Rochester Regional Chamber Foundation will be led by President Maggie Bobitz.

“I started my journey with the Chamber over 13 years ago… I am blessed to get up each morning and do a job that I love. I look forward to stepping into my next role,” said Bobitz.

The Chamber Board interviewed many qualified candidates this summer, yet it was clear the next leader was already present and familiar with the Chamber.

About the Search Process

The Executive Search Committee outlined the rigorous process utilized by the board. The initial pool of 70 applicants was narrowed significantly in sequential stages. Four candidates were invited for in-person interviews. It became clear after in-person interviews who the two final candidates were. The RRC and RRC Foundation boards were then invited to the final interviews.

Each candidate was ranked according to The Role Rubric which outlined the must-have skills and qualities. The final recommendation of the Executive Search Committee is Maggie Bobitz.

Special thanks to the Executive Search Committee (John Young, Lauren Royston, Libby DeLaney, John Gaber, and Vince Mattina) for their time and expertise. It was a thorough process which produced the best candidate.
