Happy Burger Connoisseurs

Rochester area burger connoisseurs had today’s date, Monday, October 18th blocked off on their calendars for some time. Finally, wrapping their hands around a Black Truffle Burger featuring a Gruyere cheeseburger topped with real black truffle sauce (made with Regalis organic black truffle olive oil) and crispy shallots on a toasted potato bun…YES! The time has come!

Among the Shake Shack fans at the Grand Opening were Rochester Hills City Councilmen David Walker and Ryan Deel. David stressed that Shake Shack is a quality organization, and we should all be excited to have them at the Village. Ryan shared that in the last month, one of the top questions he has received from constituents is “When will Shake Shack be opening?”

A key ingredient to the Shack’s quality, is their historical and ongoing commitment to community. Shake Shack is donating $1 for every burger sold at the opening to Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac.

Representing Grace Centers of Hope at the opening were Kyle Couch, Director of Development and Jager Carmos, volunteer coordinator. Kyle said ,“The relationship between Grace Centers and the Rochester community is strong. The 'Women Helping Women' luncheon and fashion show is a yearly Grace Centers’ event hosted in Rochester. Partnering with Shake Shack in the Village is another opportunity to keep that relationship strong!”

Families line up on opening day for scrumptious Shake Shack selections!

Aaron Lyczynski, Shake Shack Area Director and Hannah Yoffa, Shake Shack Regional Marketing Manager, love telling the Shake Shack community story. Aaron said, “It’s not just about the opening, it’s about being part of the community. This reflects to the original Shake Shack location and the rehabilitation of Madison Square Park on 23rd and Broadway in New York City. We have all been asked to maintain the quality and persona of that first location.”

We asked Hannah Yoffa how is Shake Shack balancing the Grand Opening during a hiring challenge?

Hannah noted, “While it is a challenge to build a team, we want team members knowing it is more than a paycheck. Shake Shack offers a Step-Up program, each employee is empowered to grow in the company, receiving increased compensation at each 'step-up'. Shack offers good pay and a great quality of life. Some employees may move across the US, we’re ready to plug them into a team in their new geography.”

You may not wrap your hands around a Shack Black Truffle Burger, but with so much premier selections from the ShackBurger®, Chick’n Shack, crinkle-cut fries and hand-spun shakes you’ll be visiting this new Shake Shack location over and over again!

Von Maur Update

Rochester area shoppers are discovering more about the Von Maur message. “The strength of the Von Maur brand lies in our enjoyable and unique shopping experience. The backbone of this experience is our wide selection of brand-name merchandise, open and attractive store design, amenities that enhance the customer experience and our commitment to excellent customer service.”

Some residents refer to Von Maur as a slight upscale from a Macy’s atmosphere.

Von Maur Store

Still on track for Spring 2022. Shoppers at the Village of Rochester Hills are seeing progress on the facade and parking areas of the upcoming Von Maur Department Store. The parking lot is being repaved, new cement curbs have been poured and new parking signposts are cast. Along the north and side sides of the front we see the greatest visible changes with taut navy-blue awnings providing cover for the large front windows. Between each awning are newly installed black cylindrical outdoor sconce lights.
