Shake Shack coming to the Village of Rochester Hills
Shake Shack is coming to the Village of Rochester Hills this October. The premium burger place helps fill a void left when Max and Erma’s closed it’s doors at the Village.
Shake Shack refers to themselves as a “modern day roadside burger stand serving a classic American menu of premium burgers, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, crinkle cut fries, shakes, and frozen custard.”
Village shopper, Alyssa Fisher of Rochester Hills, has eaten at the Shake Shack in Chicago and had a wonderful experience. Currently Alyssa would consider getting her burgers at either CK Diggs or McDonald’s. We asked Alyssa if there were too many burger places, she said, “The more the merrier, I’ll make sure to celebrate my October Birthday with a stop at this new Shake Shack.”
Originally started in New York City in 2004, Shake Shack opened on the Northeast corner of 23rd and Broadway. The location was a walk-up kiosk located in Madison Square Park, you took your burger and found a seat in the park. The company devoted themselves to keeping the park clean and soon wrapping lines became the norm, especially during lunch. The Village location will continue the walk-up tradition with a “Shack Track” pick-up window located along the sidewalk.
They must be doing something right, as they experience a meteoric growth. They expect to open 35 to 38 stores in the US during 2021 with the Village location being one of them. There are currently 339 Shake Shacks Worldwide.
Another Village shopper, Sydney Scher of Lake Orion, has considered Bunkhouse Burgers in Clarkston and Five Guys her “go-to” burger places, now she’ll add Shake Shack to that list.
Sydney use to live in Chicago and is very familiar with the menu. Sydney highlighted the perfect marriage of the special sauce and the burger patty. She noted the right mix of properly salted crinkle cut fries dipped in a special cheese sauce.
“The menu sits at a reasonable price point offering great value, add the Village location and I’m in!”, said Sydney.
The Village of Rochester Hills is located on the Northeast corner of Adams and Walton. Shake Shack is located across from PF Chang’s, in the old Xfinity location.
